Higher inflation, interest rates, and December holidays tagged as factors

FACTORY output fell in December, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Thursday, with both volume and value growth easing from the previous month and a year earlier.

Preliminary results of the PSA's latest Monthly Integrated Survey Selected Industries (MISSI) showed a 4.8-percent gain for the volume of production index (VoPI), down from November's 5.9 percent and the 19.2 percent in December 2021.
