LAWMAKERS afflicted with the incurable disease called "grandstanding" are again on the offensive against offshore gaming operators.
In a Senate hearing last week, senators castigated Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) officials after they admitted that Pagcor has only imposed a penalty of $10,000, or more than P500,000, on Brickhartz Technology Inc., one of the companies allegedly involved in criminal activities, while no punishment has been meted on MOA Cloudzone Corp., another firm accused of kidnapping.
