The most viral news in the NBA in the past week focused on a non-call. There was a debate on whether Jayson Tatum's slap on LeBron James' arm in the dying seconds of their match should have been called. The thing is, a foul has always been and always will be a judgment call. Anything that is placed on the subjective whistles of the referee will always be debatable.
If that play happened in the second quarter, it would have just been shrugged off. LeBron would make the signal and the face he flashes on the referees, but then the play goes on and he'll go back playing defense.
