BACOLOD CITY: Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo 'Albee' Benitez has ordered an investigation to look into the city's missing 122 vehicles. Benitez has directed the Public Order and Safety Office to locate the vehicles. The unaccounted vehicles were uncovered after employees, who were issued city government vehicles, were required to bring them to the Bacolod City Government Center grounds for inventory on January 28. Only 378 vehicles were accounted for on Saturday, lawyer Joseph Karol Chiu, secretary to the mayor, said. Chiu said city employees who cannot present or explain the whereabouts of the vehicles assigned to them could face malversation raps. The mayor plans to have the city government vehicles repaired or auctioned, he added.
