Injured up 16 in gas explosion in Manila 

(UPDATE) AT least 16 individuals were hospitalized following an explosion caused by a leak from a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank in Malate, Manila on Monday night.

Manila Police District (MPD) said seven casualties were brought to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), another seven to Adventist Medical Center Manila and two to the Ospital ng Maynila.

An explosion occurred around 6:50 in the evening, Monday inside a laundromat shop in Fidel street, Malate, Manila. According to a waiter of the Tagpuan eatery, there was a smell of gas, LPG, right before the explosion. NBI investigators are on scene. No reports of casualties. PHOTO BY J. GERARD SEGUIA
