Meralco downs NorthPort

Chris Newsome delivered down the stretch, including a tough fadeaway jump shot with 21 seconds to go to lead Meralco past a pesky NorthPort side, 107-102, in their 2022-23 PBA Governors' Cup match on Thursday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

After taking just seven shot attempts through three quarters, Newsome rose to the occasion in the final minute, hitting three free throws, including that all-important fadeaway against Jeff Chan that practically sealed Meralco's second straight win in as many starts.
