PH embassy in Kuwait seeks justice for slain OFW

THE Philippine Embassy in Kuwait said it will work closely with the Kuwait government to bring justice to the slain Filipino household worker.

The embassy on Facebook lauded the swift action and response of the Kuwaiti police, especially in the arrest of the suspect in the killing of Jullebee Ranara.

In a statement, the embassy said it will continue to coordinate with the Kuwaiti government for the resolution of the case.

The Philippine government said it will also arrange the release of Ranara's remains 'for shipment back home to her bereaved family in the Philippines as soon as possible.'

The victim's body was recovered by Kuwaiti police at Salmi, Al-Jarah Governorate on January 21.

'Based on initial information from official sources, a suspect has been arrested and detained by Kuwaiti police,' the embassy said.

The embassy said 'the Filipino community in Kuwait extend their deepest condolences to the family of Ranara.'
