IN a quarrel or a street brawl, it is not uncommon for a neighborhood or for relatives to gang up on a victim perceived to have injured a neighbor, a relative, a friend.

The hapless victim's protestations of innocence notwithstanding, a melee is such that it has no rules and it does not listen.
