FILIPINO Japanese golf sensation Yuka Saso dropped from seventh to 16th after the second round in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida on Saturday (Manila time).
Saso shot one-over-par 73 to get an aggregate of one-under-par 143, sharing the 16th spot with South African Paula Reto, Swedish Anna Nordqvist and Thai Pajaree Anannarukarn.
The 21-year-old Saso drained a birdie on the fourth hole, but her double bogey on the next put her one-over-par in the frontside.
She negated the stroke with a birdie on the 11th hole but yielded it back with a bogey on the 15th before parring the last three holes.
The 21-year-old Saso trails leader Brooke Henderson by 10 shots as the Canadian fired six-under-par 66 in the second for a total of 11-under-par 133.
American Nelly Korda runs second with seven-under-par 137 while English Charley Hull and Taiwanese Hsu Wei-Ling come in third with their identical six-under-par 138.
Saso looks to narrow the gap between her and the leaders in the third round on Sunday.
