Veteran playmaker Maverick Ahanmisi provided a huge first half spark behind his hot-shooting night as Converge opened the 2022-23 PBA Governors' Cup with a smashing 122-92 win over an injury-ravaged NorthPort side Sunday evening at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Ahanmisi banged in 29 points, just a point short of tying his PBA career-high 30, which he registered during his rookie season. The former Minnesota Gopher guard added nine assists and six rebounds in a solid all-around effort for the FiberXers, who turned a tight two-point contest to a 20-point bubble by halftime.
