LEGAZPI CITY: Police operatives from Naga City and the Camarines Sur arrested a couple from Laguna for the possession of P13.6 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust on Thursday.

Arrested were Ernan Tobias, 45, and Nelynn Tobias, 40, both residents of Sitio Uno, Patimbao, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

The Tobias couple were arrested at around 9:11 p.m. along the Diversion Road in Zone 5, Barangay Tabuco, Naga City. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165.

They were nabbed after a poseur buyer bought 500 grams of shabu worth P1,100,000 from the suspects.

LtCol. Maria Luisa Calubaquid, police regional spokesman in Bicol, said that police personnel from Naga and Camarines Sur, led by Capt. Dennis Altez, coordinated with police units in Naga City under the supervision of Col. Nelson Pacalso and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for the apprehension of the suspects, who are both considered high-value targets.

After the police operatives searched the suspects and their vehicle, a Ford Ranger with plate number DAP 1810, one green eco bag containing two pieces of sealed transparent plastic bags that contained a white crystalline substance weighing approximately 1,500 grams was recovered.
