THE provincial government of Bulacan, headed by Gov. Daniel Fernando, turned over 80 bike patrol units with helmets and arm sleeves to the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) during the groundbreaking ceremony of Bulacan PPO Multipurpose Covered Court and launching of Bike Patrol at Camp General Alejo S. Santos on Wednesday.
The bike patrol units were received by Col. Relly Arnedo, director of Bulacan PPO. The bicycles will be used by 144 bike patrollers from Bulacan PPO who will roam around their designated areas of duty, particularly at the tourist destinations.
Fernando said the bike patrol units will reinforce security and impose order in the communities.
Prior to the launching of the bike patrol units, Fernando and Arnedo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new 540-square-meter Bulacan PPO Multipurpose Covered Court.
A surprise drug test was also conducted on the same day in congruence with the internal cleansing mandate of the Philippine National Police. All 59 personnel from the Bulacan PPO, including the chief intelligence officer, chiefs of police, and the intelligence administrators of various stations, tested negative for illegal drugs.
In his speech, Fernando told the police force to continue performing their duties with integrity.
