Wealth fund to leverage govt assets

DAVOS, Switzerland: Unused government assets will be leveraged for a planned Philippine sovereign wealth fund that will be used to kick-start crucial infrastructure projects, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. said.

The proposed Maharlika Wealth Fund, which has been criticized as lacking crucial safeguards, was raised by Marcos during a breakfast meeting with top chief executives at the sidelines of the ongoing World Economic Forum annual meeting.
