DURING the last two months or so, there has been much discussion around the world regarding the potential benefits and threats in the fast development in recent years of artificial intelligence (AI). Artificial intelligence is an emerging technology that is rapidly changing the way humans live and interact with the world. AI systems are being used in various applications, ranging from medical diagnosis to autonomous vehicles and, in many cases — to the fear of many — are outperforming humans in terms of speed, accuracy and efficiency. Without being an expert in the field, I will attempt to line up some of the advantages of AI and why it is becoming increasingly popular in various areas.

One of the most evident advantages of AI is its ability to process data quickly and accurately. AI systems are able to process large amounts of data and identify patterns and trends that are difficult for humans to detect. This allows AI to foresee new opportunities and make decisions in the fraction of time it would take a human to do. Additionally, AI systems can quickly adapt to changing conditions and react quickly to changes in data.
