NPA turns down peace talks

BACOLOD CITY: The New People's Army's (NPA) Apolinario Gatmaitan Command based in Negros Island has rejected the proposed 'localized peace engagement' offered by the new leadership of the Army's 303rd Infantry Brigade (303IB) and supported by Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.

In a statement, Ka Maoce Legislador, spokesman for the Apolinario Gatmaitan Command, said that they will never engage in what he described as a 'phony undertaking.'
