THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Thursday admitted that there was no closed circuit television (CCTV) in the room that housed the Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Systems for Air Traffic Management as the Senate started investigating the glitch that shut down air traffic on Jan. 1, 2023.
Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo, CAAP director-general, admitted that there was no CCTV at the air traffic management room when the issue was raised by Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri."Unfortunately, we don't have any CCTV coverage inside the equipment room, but in other areas of the facility we have [CCTVs]," Tamayo said.
