LEARNING of today's students is anchored on 21st century skills, the four major skills being communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. These skills interconnect to make deep learning possible. Otherwise, the so-called learning would be merely acquiring subject content through rote memorization. Deep learning is acquired when students are engaged in their subjects. Engaged means students are curious about what they learn, and give their full attention, interest and sustained motivation to learn. These four skills enable today's students to succeed in their studies and career — in their personal life as well.
