The stock market and the peso continued going separate ways on Wednesday, the former said to have been buoyed by latest foreign investment data and the latter weighed down by news of further policy rate hikes.

The currency gained seven centavos to close at P54.8 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) shed 47.35 points or 0.70 percent to close at 6,709.34.
