THE Department of Energy (DoE) has approved implementation of a "gas swapping arrangement," calling it a "win-win solution" to a projected electricity supply shortage from March to July, considered the peak months for power demand.
Following a meeting called by Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla on Dec. 27, 2022, DoE officials and energy stakeholders drew up a plan to keep power supply sufficient even as demand rises.
