CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna: A call of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on all officers of the Philippine National Police to submit courtesy resignations was defended here on Saturday by PNP chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr.
"Kaya ako nagpunta sa inyo ay upang pasalamatan kayo ng personal dahil sa inyong suporta sa panukalang courtesy resignations sa mga officers. May mga tumalima na sa panawagan ng ating Secretary [Benhur Abalos] ng DILG. Nais kong ipaunawa na ang hakbangin ito ay hindi para pahirapan o ibaba ang moral ng bawa't isa. Alam ko na ang iba ay nalungkot at naguluhan ngunit ito ay para sa ikabubuti ng ating organisasyon (I came to you to thank you personally for your support to the call of DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos for all officers to submit courtesy resignations. It is not meant to make things hard for you or lower your morale. I know that some of you were saddened and got confused but the call is for the good of our organization)," Azurin said before officers and men of Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A Calabarzon at Bigkis-Lahi Event Center in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City.
