FILIPINO teen golf ace Rianne Malixi finished joint 12th in the Women's Orlando International Amateur at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Florida on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).
Malixi carded two-under-par 70 in the third and final round to get an aggregate score of two-under-par 214 and share the 12th place with American Megan Propeck.
Virginie Ding of Hong Kong topped the 181-player field tournament with a solid 10-under-par 206.
American Megan Schofill placed second with nine-under-par 207 while her compatriot Jenny Bae finished third with seven-under-par 209.
The 15-year-old Malixi started the last round with a birdie on the second hole and a bogey on the fifth.
She took off from there, scoring birdies on the sixth, seventh and 10th holes before hitting a snag on the 16th with a bogey.
Malixi's third round performance catapulted her by eight ranks higher in the leaderboard, as she was at joint 12th at the conclusion of the first and second rounds where she fired one-under-par 71 and one-over-par 73, respectively.
World No. 153 Malixi will next play in the Annika Invitational slated from January 15 to 17 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club, also in Orlando.
