CAMP GENERAL VICENTE LIM, Calamba City: A ranking member of the New People's Army (NPA) was arrested in a joint police and military operation at Southville 9 Phase 2, Barangay Pinugay, Baras 1, Rizal on Thursday afternoon. In his report to Police Regional Office-Calabarzon director BGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Regional Mobile Force Battalion commander LtCol. Agosto Asuncion identified the suspect as Antonio Pule, 55, married and a resident of Kasiglahan Village, Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal. Pule was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Marylou Meneses of the Regional Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 65, in Infanta, Quezon for attempted murder with bail fixed at P120,000 and for murder with bail fixed at P120,000. Asuncion said Pule is a finance officer of the NPA in the subregional military area 4A and the deputy political instructor of the Komiteng Sentrong Bayan in Rizal.
