No order for full alert status – PNP official

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) disowned reports that it ordered all units to be on red alert because of the alleged en masse resignation at the Department of National Defense.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said that there was no instruction from PNP chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. to go on full alert after three versions of a supposed memorandum circulated on social media.

Around 1,000 uniformed personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Manila Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) gathered inside the Rizal Park open Amphitheater during a deployment/send-off ceremony for the security of the Feast of the Black Nazarene 2023 on 05 January 2023. At least 5,000 members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and various law enforcement units will be securing the observance of the Feast of the Black Nazarene in the city of Manila on January 9.
