THE Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council (PBIDC) is collaborating with the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) to address the long-time concern of the lack of a reliable database for the bamboo industry.
According to the PBIDC, the collaboration with DoST's Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (Pcaarrd) and UPLB for the project is to develop a harmonized system for the inventory of bamboo that will engage communities.
