MORE than 100 tons of beta carotene-enriched Malusog Rice, also known as Golden Rice, have been harvested this wet season in 17 pioneer production sites across the country.
The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) said that the first harvest will be distributed in target households with pre-school children identified at-risk for vitamin A deficiency (VAD) and undernutrition, as well as pregnant and lactating mothers.
