Revenge cinema is in full swing indeed, with the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) seeing an encouraging rise in the number of moviegoers for this year's 48th edition. Since its opening on Christmas Day, long lines have continued to fill theaters compared to last 2021's part reopening.
Of all the entries from the "Magic 8" entries, "Deleter" by the young and award-winning filmmaker Mikhail Red has consistently aced movie reviews as it steadily climbed up the box office. In fact, in a January 1 Facebook post of showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz, a reliable source disclosed that the techno-horror film has toppled the Vice Ganda-Ivana Alawi comedy, "Partners in Crime" and is now No. 1 in ticket sales, earning a P126-million gross on its first seven-day run.
