THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Tuesday said that the number of residents affected by the shear line weather phenomenon that caused floods in parts of the Philippines has reached 600,000.

According to the latest situation report from the NDRRMC, there are 597,858 people or 150,480 families coming from 1,018 villages in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and Bangsamoro Region that were affected by the floods from the rains brought by the shear line.
