DENR to use satellites, drones vs. illegal logging

Drones and satellite imagery will increasingly be used by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) given the proliferation of illegal logging and continued deforestation.

Environment Secretary Maria Antonio Yulo-Loyzaga said the use of technology would be accelerated in response to a Haribon report that at least 7,517 deforestation alerts had been recorded nationwide in a span of just two weeks.
