(UPDATED) THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) extended the validity of the special permit (SP) for public utility vehicles (PUVs) with provincial routes until Jan. 15, 2023 to accommodate the high number of commuters.

'The Board decided to extend the SP of PUVs to provide our commuting public more chances to get a ride going home to their families and loved ones during the New Year and beyond,' said LTFRB chairman Teofilo Guadiz 3rd on Friday. 'Our ultimate goal is to give them convenience and comfort in their travel.'
