PH rice imports reach 3.7 MMT in 2022

THE country's rice importation for 2022 reached 3.7 million metric tons (MMT), almost 1 MMT higher compared to the 2.77 million imported in the same period last year, according to the data from the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI).

Based on the data from the BPI, as of Dec. 22, 2022, at least 3,713,024 MMT of imported rice arrived in the country.
