(UPDATE) FILIPINO band Eraserheads held their 'Ang Huling El Bimbo 2022 Reunion Concert' at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City on Thursday night.
The show, named after the 1990s band's iconic hit song, began at 8:30 p.m., with gates opening as early as 2 p.m.
'The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful, and so are you,' wrote lead singer Elean 'Ely' Buendia on his Instagram page before the event. 'Come out to play! Not too late to buy tickets.'
Before the concert, the band stayed at the Okada Manila, which serves as their official residence, according to the hotel's Twitter handle.
Fans of the concert followed events on Twitter with the handle @HulingElBimbo22 and the hashtags #HulingElBimbo2022 and #Eraserheads2022.
Prior to the concert, the band was also a trending topic on Twitter.
On Wednesday, the Parañaque City government had urged motorists to take alternate routes, due to 'high volume of traffic' at the concert venue.
Ride-hailing services like motorcycle app Angkas had urged fans to bring valid IDs, tickets, vaccine cards and raincoats.
Eraserheads, which consists of Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala and Raymund Marasigan, have reunited for the last time to perform on Thursday. The band is known for their songs 'Pare Ko,' 'Magasin,' 'Ligaya,' 'With a Smile' and 'Ang Huling El Bimbo,' to which the reunion concert and a musical were named after.
In addition, 'Ang Huling El Bimbo: The Musical,' based on the songs of the band, is set to return next year, with auditions held last July.
