Mayor wishes peace in conflict-hit villages

BACOLOD CITY: Himamaylan City Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson Jr. in Negros Occidental has expressed optimism that the relative peace in Barangay Carabalan in the last two months will continue.

This comes after thousands of its residents were displaced because of a series of encounters between government troops and communist rebels.
