Metro air most polluted during New Year revelry

THE environmental watchdog EcoWaste Coalition on Monday said air pollution in Metro Manila is usually at its worst during New Year revelries because of exploded firecrackers and fireworks.

EcoWaste cited a study by the Manila Observatory in 2019 where the recorded hourly average fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was at 143.4 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3).
