Lift supply deal TRO, Meralco asks court

MANILA Electric Co. (Meralco) on Monday asked the Court of Appeals to lift a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued in favor of South Premiere Power Corp. (SPPC) and also deny the generation company's application for a writ of preliminary injunction.

In a motion dated December 19, Meralco cited the disruption of basic and essential services rendered by SPPC. 'With due respect, the grant of the TRO was not in furtherance of the 'interest of the general public,'' it claimed.
