COUNTRIES with a greater respect for human rights have higher and more sustainable economic growth rates and higher levels of human development, the European Union ambassador to the Philippines said.
Speaking at the recent "Business and Human Rights: Challenges and Opportunities" symposium organized by the Delegation of the European Union in the Philippines, in coordination with the University of Asia and the Pacific, EU Ambassador Luc Véron highlighted that business, alongside governments and civil society, plays a significant role in promoting human rights.
