Bulacan grabs health award in 8th CLExAH

THE exemplary implementation of health programs in the province of Bulacan has been recognized as it was awarded five awards during the 8th Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health (CLExAH) held at the Kingsborough International Convention Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on Monday, December 12.

Provincial Health Officer 2 Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Provincial Health Officer 1 Dr. Edwin Tecson, and nurse Brian Alfonso received the Outstanding Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, Best in Multisectoral Collaboration on Covid-19 Vaccination, Pulang Laso Excellence Awards for Health awarded to Bulacan Medical Center (Hospital Category), Excellence Award for DRRM-H Institutionalization, and Excellence Award in UHC Implementation on behalf of Gov. Daniel Fernando.

Department of Health Undersecretary Enrique Tayag thanked the awardees for their support of the Covid-19 vaccination and other programs of the Department of Health in Central Luzon.

'This year, we not only focus on excellence but also on bouncing higher, doing better, and serving more. That is the true essence of excellence. Your passion brought you here and we know it will bring you more success and blessings in many years to come,' Tayag said.

Likewise, Central Luzon Center for Health Development Director 4 Dr. Corazon Flores congratulated the awardees for overcoming the challenges of the past two years.

'This is a day to celebrate. It's a day to be happy, to enjoy the fruits of our labor. We relied on each other. For every person you served and every life saved, many thanks,' Flores said.

Meanwhile, Fernando recognized the people behind the success, the Bulakenyo health workers who tirelessly worked to serve their constituents regardless of the consequences.

'The awards received are a testament to the unwavering commitment of the provincial government of Bulacan to improve the health services for our people. The good health of our residents could result in a whole new perspective on progress,' the governor said.
