Smart, Digitel sell towers for P9.2B

SMART Communications Inc. and Digitel Mobile Philippines Inc. have signed deals to sell 650 towers and associated infrastructure to Unity Digital Infrastructure Inc. for P9.2 billion, PLDT Inc. said on Friday.

The price reflects the value of towers covered by initial sale and leaseback transactions announced in April. The 650 towers — primarily located in the Visayas and Mindanao — bring the number and value of the towers to be monetized to over 6,500 and more than P86 billion.
