DURING the celebration of the Urban Poor Solidarity Week (UPSW) held at the City College of Mandaluyong in Barangay Addition Hills, Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) chairman Undersecretary Elpidio Jordan Jr. honored the country's urban poor organizations (UPOs), local government units (LGUs) and government agencies and the private sector for their initiatives to give service and assistance to those living under the poverty line.
Marking its 36 years of public service, the PCUP gave recognition to the partnerships forged by urban poor groups and government agencies and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) that support the poverty alleviation program of the Marcos administration.
