AN estimated 49,000 Filipino students are now studying overseas, 50 percent higher compared to the last count of 22,709 made by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) before the pandemic.
The number of international Filipino students is also seen to grow over the next five years by an average of 10 to13 percent annually, according to the Philippine unit of IDP Education Ltd., an Australian-listed international education services company.
