A slight supply increase brought the average Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) price to P8.53 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in November, the the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) reported on Wednesday, down 7.48 percent from P9.22/kWh a month earlier.
Average supply inched up by 1.58 percent or 213 megawatts (MW) to 13,691 MW with coal plants still the main players, IEMOP engineer Josell Co said in a briefing. Average demand, meanwhile, decreased by 4.21 percent or 455 MW to 10,355 MW during the month.
