US inflation buoys stocks, peso

The stock market and the peso both gained on Wednesday as latest US inflation data indicated that monetary authorities would not be springing rate hike surprises.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) added 32.69 points, or 0.50 percent, to settle at 6,615.07. The broader All Shares gained 17.92 points, or 0.52 percent, to 3,449.57.
