DTI pushes anew RCEP ratification

FOR the nth time, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) called for the urgent ratification of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), saying it is crucial in enhancing the openness of the business environment in the country.

"This is a comprehensive agreement that involves rules and disciplines or policies to establish a conducive environment for businesses and investors. These rules and policies are important because they provide stability in the business environment," Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual said during the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearing on the RCEP Agreement on Monday.
