I'VE just returned to Southeast Asia after staying for six months in the United States. I took a Saudia Airlines flight that had a 10-hour layover in Riyadh. My fellow passengers were mostly overseas Filipino workers, wearing their denim jackets and jeans, bags slung on their shoulders.

I met two other Filipinos who were to fly to London, for leisure, from Riyadh.

The beautiful Rizzoli Bookstore on Broadway Avenue in New York City has an impressive collection of books by writers who are black, indigenous and colored. PHOTO FROM RIZZOLI.COM
