THERE is no "prominent presence" of foreign terrorists in the country, Presidential peace adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. said, as he noted the downtrend in violent incidents and the "flourishing" tourism in war-stricken Mindanao.
Galvez, who heads the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (Opapru), said the national government, local government units (LGUs) and the security sector have been working very hard to put a stop to lawless elements and improve the overall peace and order situation in Mindanao, particularly in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
