The curious case of Benny Antiporda

NAKED THOUGHT

LAST week, when my column regarding suspended NIA Administrator Benny Antiporda came out, a friend called me up to 'correct' me on some of my 'misconceptions' regarding the Office of the Ombudsman, telling me the said office is in a position to slap anyone it investigates after a complaint has been filed with a preventive suspension, if 'the evidence of guilt is strong.'

The Office of the Ombudsman may even conduct a motu proprio investigation on any issue, even in the absence of a formal complaint.
