Letran foils Benilde, nears 3rd straight NCAA title

COLEGIO de San Juan de Letran fended off a valiant challenge by De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, 81-75, in Game 1 of their NCAA Season 98 men's basketball best-of-three Finals on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, moving on the cusp of a third straight title.

Louie Sanggalang uncorked a career-best 24 points on 10-of-11 shooting while pulling down 10 rebounds to lead the way for the Knights.
