What could have been the darkest period in recent past turned into an opportunity to be productive and creative as members of the Sunshine Place Memoir Writing Group Batch 2021 to 2022 were able to publish their own book, Reflection in Light and Shadow: An Anthology of Short Memoirs.

The 18 authors include Linda Atayde, Catherine Mijares Chua, Len Fernandez, Adelaida Lim, Victoria Lopez, Dina Lucenario, Ma. Dolores Matias, Gloria Pe, Carminda Regala, Neny Regino, Mariquit Reventar, Flora Timoteo Sebastian, Mario Torrento Jr., Dada Trillo, Ma. Susana Yap, J'net Zulueta, Winifred Samson+ and Suzie Benitez+. Although these individuals are not writers in their estimation nor had much experience in publishing their writings, educator, author and Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas awardee Oscar Peñaranda was able to help them rediscover their lives and experiences through his Memoir Writing workshop.
