Peso hits P55:$1 level; stocks plunge by 3.64%

THE peso returned to the P55:$1 level on Friday, strengthening for a seventh straight day to its best showing in more than three months.

The currency gained 48 centavos to close at P55.74 to the greenback, the lowest since August 12's P55.61:$1.
