Gazz Angels outlast HD Spikers, move on cusp of second straight title

Defending champ Petro Gazz pulls off a hard-earned sweep, 25-21, 27-25, 37-35, after an extended third set against Cignal to seize Game One of their best-of-3 finals series in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lindsey Vander Weide unleashed a career-best 34 points, 31 off attacks, including the last three that ended the extended third set, as she put the Angels on the cusp of their second straight title.
