SENATE President Juan Miguel 'Migz' Zubiri on Friday said that a bill filed at the House of Representative seeking to create a Philippine sovereign wealth fund or the 'Maharlika Investments Fund (MIF)' will be carefully studied.

'On the issue of the Maharlika Investment Act, I will ask a select group of Senators such as Senators Juan Edgardo Angara, Sherwin Gatchalian, Grace Poe, Mark Villar and Alan Peter Cayetano, Chairmen of the Committees of Finance, Ways and Means, Economic Affairs, Banks and Financial Institutions, as well as Government Owned and Controlled Corporations to study the proposal carefully and give the Senate feedback on the essence of the Fund,' said Zubiri in a text message.
